3 Ways Chelsea Could Line Up in Defence During the 2020/21 Season

Chelsea is on shopping this summer, something very special nd extraordinary is happening at Chelsea Football Club. An exceptional transfer window is getting better day by day, with four signings alone coming through the doors at Stamford Bridge in the last week.

Having already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, the Blues bought in Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva to hugely bolster their defence. For a team who conceded 54 goals - their worst league tally in 23 years - last season, it is exactly what they needed to improve and move forward under Lampard.

Lampard now has a surplus of defenders at his disposal, and while some look set to move on, he'll have plenty of players to work with. He has options galore for a back four and back three, putting Chelsea in strong position to push on and potentially challenge for the Premier league.

 1. Azpilicueta-Silva-Zouma-Chillwell

Of all the backline options Chelsea have, this is by far their strongest. Integrating their new recruits with their best defenders, it is a no brainer to deploy this back four for must-win games - of which there will definitely be many during the upcoming season.

Keeping captain Azpilicueta at right-back is crucial, as well as maintaining his rightful status as skipper. Chilwell will instantly be Lampard’s first choice on the left, though may need time to settle in and find his feet at Stamford Bridge.

Silva is the obvious selection, seeing his current form it's a no brainer .which leaves Kurt Zouma as his lucky partner. The Frenchman was the Blues’ best centre-back in a tumultuous campaign, and with the quality shown and potential he has, Zouma can really grow into a top defender alongside his new Brazilian counterpart.

2. Azpilicueta-Silva-M.sarr-Chillwell

The only change in this line will be M.sarr in place of Zouma, M.sarr has all the qualities to be a world's best defender one day , speed, physical strength, defensive awareness, positioning and all makes him a top notch baller . it's rare to see him in starting but certainly he will come off the bench and certainly oneday start the game for Chelsea.

3. James-Silva-Rudiger-Chillwell

Whether it is for rotation, tactics or due to an injury, no Azpilicueta again paves the way for James to start at right-back.

Where does Antonio Rüdiger’s future at Stamford Bridge lie? The addition of Silva puts the German in peril, and in a season where he lost his starting spot on several occasions, his best opportunity may be in a back three when Chelsea are rotating their squad.

In another instance of Azpilicueta’s possible absence, Silva will comfortably fill in with the captain’s armband. Zouma’s partnership with the Brazilian could be formidable, but it will be interesting to see how they operate with Rüdiger on the left.

SHOULD MESSI LEAVE BARCELONA??

Greatest player of all time(G.O.A.T) , none other than Lionel Andres Messi . A prolific goal scorer and a creative playmaker who is outstanding, out of this world in every sense of footballing term he is a pure genius. Hell a lot of joy he brings to the football fans all around the globe by his magical run , dribbling and by his smart tricks and one of those little piece of magic out of his hat when he defy all the top class defenders in the world by putting them an awe, He is not a human he is something else. When it comes to one-club players in top-flight football, few names can match the impact of Lionel Messi at Barcelona. He was the teen prodigy, he joined barcelona at the age of 13, who became a global legend, all within the confines of the Catalan club. From honing his skill at La Masia to leading the team, the Argentine’s path to greatness was laid out in Spain and he fulfilled his destiny by becoming the most successful player for the club. And for (nearly) 20 year...

Why did Luis Suarez join Atlético Madrid?

Luis Suarez joining Athleti makes a lot of sense as he has established himself as a legend at Barcelona , and after spending many years in spain, his family is settled there and kids don't even want to go elsewhere ,so playing for athletico will terminate the chances to settle elsewhere and won't have to face problems to adapt elsewhere . But one of the major factor i see is that his friendship with messi, they are neighbours and he might not want to separate himself from Messi can be a major factor . Coming in to Simeone side ,due to less players at his position at Athleti will certainly be good for him as he will have more playing time considering that Morata will be out on loan at Juventus. Simeone is a great admirer of him, will certainly help him play his final years with joy. As a Barca fan i would've liked if he was given a great farewell ,but due to covid it's impossible. Good bye Legend 💯♥️

What is false nine in football ?

False 9 A false 9 is a player who plays between the midfield and the defense lines. The most prominent example is Pep’s Barca squad utilizing Messi as a false 9. In modern-day football, more and more teams are shifting to a false 9 striker rather than a true 9 with a 10 playing behind. It is like a combination of a 9 and a 10. Also, with the introduction of inverted winger who cut in rather than be in the ‘wings’, it seems more like a favorable option. It is always used in a 4–3–3 formation in football. Qualities It is one of THE HARDEST ROLE to play in a team. This player has to pack a bunch of skillsets. The most important skills are- really good dribbling, good vision and passing and, the most important, awareness and creativity. Other skills include flair, speed, and a hella lot stamina. Quite a lot of qualities to ask for, resulting in a lesser number of these players. Advantages and Disadvantages It is a tricky position to play. The most advantage of playing a false 9 is the mar...
