Why did Luis Suarez join Atlético Madrid?

Luis Suarez joining Athleti makes a lot of sense as he has established himself as a legend at Barcelona , and after spending many years in spain, his family is settled there and kids don't even want to go elsewhere ,so playing for athletico will terminate the chances to settle elsewhere and won't have to face problems to adapt elsewhere .

But one of the major factor i see is that his friendship with messi, they are neighbours and he might not want to separate himself from Messi can be a major factor .

Coming in to Simeone side ,due to less players at his position at Athleti will certainly be good for him as he will have more playing time considering that Morata will be out on loan at Juventus. Simeone is a great admirer of him, will certainly help him play his final years with joy.

As a Barca fan i would've liked if he was given a great farewell ,but due to covid it's impossible.
